Intruder Alarms

Over the last five years the market has changed from mainly installing intruder alarm systems (approx 90% of business) to now also installing other security systems including cctv systems, access control, security barriers, security gates, electric gates and automatic gates. Intruder alarms now make up 50% of our total installations.

Industry standards have also changed considerably, which has had an effect on the price of some equipment rising. The positive side to this is that it makes it more difficult for a non accredited installer to sell to the commercial market as insurers insist intruder alarm systems are installed and maintained by NSI or SSAIB accredited installers such as ourselves.

Installation

A professionally installed intruder alarm is a highly effective deterrent to any burglar, and is equally effective should your premises be broken in to - choose between:

• A detection system with a siren and flashing bell-box (bells only system). Generally installed in lower risk premises where the sirens will generate a local response and drive the intruders away. Bells only systems can be fitted with a speech dialler which calls preset telephone numbers to alert the holder/s to alarm activations.

• A monitored detection system that is linked to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) which is manned 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Activations from the alarm system are passed to the ARC via a communicator fitted within the alarm system control panel. We fit several types of communicator to suit the security risk, insurance requirement and price (see below for options). Monitored systems are designed to generate a Keykolder and/or Police response to Alarm activations.

Initially we'll visit your premises and assess your requirements - this is a free and confidential service with no high pressure sales. Once your survey is complete an intruder system is designed, tailored to meet both your insurers' and your requirements, at all the current industry standard, and then priced for you.

Installation includes both new installations and takeovers of existing systems. New and full installations have the added reassurance of a warranty service included, free of charge. All of our systems can be upgraded and extended to suit your needs and as standard we install spike suppressors on all intruder alarm systems.

Intruder Alarm Monitoring

Bells only system: Fitted in low risk properties where neighbours will respond to the sound of the external siren. Speech diallers can be added to this kind of system and be programmed to dial preset telephone numbers to notify you or a keyholder of activations.

Digital communicator: A low cost, low security, single path signaling device which links the burglar alarm system to our Alarm Receiving Centre via a telephone line.

Redcare Classic: A single path signaling device which links the burglar alarm system to our Alarm Receiving Centre via your telephone line. Once Redcare has been enabled, the telephone line is monitored 24hrs a day, so you will know if your telephone line is ever compromised.

RedcareRedcare GSM: Dual Path Signaling Device. Works in the same way as Redcare Classic and also has the added reassurance of a second signaling path (GSM). If for any reason the first signaling path fails, the burglar alarm will signal via the second signaling path.

DualComCSL DualCom GPRS: A Dual Path Signaling Device to suit all grades of burglar alarm system, grades 2, 3 and 4. This communications device uses GPRS as its primary signaling path and is backed up by a standard telephone line.

Broadsword Security Services can supply the relevant communications to suit the risk. We can advise you on insurer's specification.

Our 12v smoke/heat detectors can be added to intruder alarm systems. The benefits are: You don’t need to replace individual batteries, if a smoke detector activates, sirens will sound inside and outside, and if the system has a communication device fitted your keyholders will be alerted.

Security System Maintenance

Once the intruder alarm is installed, the service department ensures the continual running of your system, from a routine service to a breakdown (we will respond 24 hours a day). Contracted customers benefit from a reduced rate and our silver security system maintenance contract covers all labour fees on system derived faults.

Fire Alarms

Fire Alarms

A fire in your home or business is the most devastating disaster - not only could you lose your life, your families lives or your employee's lives, but even a very small fire can cause costly damage to your property or data.

At Broadsword Security Services we install and maintain new and existing fire alarms. Fire systems can be monitored to an alarm receiving centre via secure communications. e.g. RedCARE or DualCom.

For businesses, the law requires you to have these systems in place, and we at Broadsword Security Services are experts in Fire Systems.

Where insurer's state or the risk determines, a dedicated Fire Alarm System is fitted. These systems use fire proof cables, work on 24v as opposed to 12v that of an intruder alarm and are installed to BS5839.

Fire alarms should be tested at regular intervals to ensure they are fully working. Our maintenance schemes guarantee these service visits are carried out.

We also supply and install fire extinguishers.

Our maintenance schemes cover all of the above systems, please call Broadsword Security Services on 01608 641670 or complete either the contact us page or start your enquiry page for information and quotations.
